Battle Creek is an international city in terms of industry and tourism. Battle Creek is home to the Worlds Longest Breakfast Table, the Stan Musial Amateur Baseball World Series, the International Festival of Lights and ZooLights Festival, Full Blast, Kelloggs Cereal City USA (summer 98), the Team U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship and Air Show, and the International Summerfest. Battle Creek boasts a Foreign Trade Zone and Customs Port of Entry along with a variety of companies from Japan, Germany, Denmark, and more located in the Industrial Park. Battle Creek Health System was created in 1988 by the merger of Community and Leila hospitals. The purpose was to join the resources of these two community care providers in forming a more robust system of care better capable of meeting the needs of the surrounding communities. Today, the Health System is much more than just a community hospital. It includes the following: The Fieldstone Center, Lifespan, Mercy Pavilion, Cancer Care Center, Heart Care Center and Employer Health Services. Battle Creek has over 7,000 acres of parks and forests in and around the city creating a recreational paradise. Among the most popular are Binder Park, the largest city-owned park in the state of Michigan; Linear Park, a pathway that winds around the city; Willard Park, with waterfront activities; and Bailey Park, home of the Michigan Battle Cats.
