Summer in Boyne includes: the fourth of July celebration with its parade, craft show and fireworks; sailing races; sidewalk sales; the Antique Flywheelers Show; the Boyne Falls Polish Festival and Flea Market; and the Antique Auto Show. Fall gives us the gift of color, hunting and fishing, camping and hiking, and the annual Fall Harvest Festival in Boyne City. If your love is for winter, youll find it and all it offers Boyne City, Boyne Falls, and Walloon Lake. Here you can play hockey, go downhill skiing, sledding, skating, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, or ice fishing. The season of snow brings with it the Holiday Open House and Santa Parade, the Holiday Hobbycraft Show and the Winter Carnival in Boyne City. Spring is filled with special enchantment. Smells of new life are cast throughout the area. With spring comes the Morel and the National Morel Mushroom Festival in Boyne, complete with its seminars and guided hunts and Morel hunting championships. This year is the 142nd anniversary of the founding of Boyne City, and work continues on a historical walking tour through town with plaques designating sites of historical significance. To date, there are 36 sites on the tour. Things certainly have changed over the last hundred years. Boyne City is still an enterprising small town, and most definitely commands the special attention of visitors.
