Burt Lake State Park
A five acre state park that has 380 modern and rustic campsites, a large beach and swim area on beautiful Burt Lake, a boat launch and a picnic area with a ball field.

Located within Indian Lake, Burt Lake State Park draws a large number of tourists each year, assisting in the local economy, part of which is reliant on the influx of summer travelers who take part in the watersports, camping facilities, and other attractions around the area. Burt Lake State Park is open from April through November. Visitors can enjoy camping, boating, fishing, and 2,000 feet of sandy frontage on Burt Lake. There is one mile of hiking trails at the park (no bikes, horses, or ORV's allowed). There are also many other activities located nearby, such as the Cross In The Woods, snowmobile and cross country skiing trails, golf, and fine dining.

Coperation Park
This large park is located two miles south of downtown Indian River and covers 51.78 acres. It has six baseball fields, a skateboard park, four tennis courts, a basketball court, horseshoe pits and three soccer fields! The park also features a lighted ice rink for the winter months and cross-country ski trails that double as walking trails in the warmer months.

Changes are continuously being made to the park. In recent years the park added a 5,900 square foot, fenced, play structure encircled with a walking track. In 2005 Cooperation Park added a warming hut for the skating rink; and, new for the 2005-2006 winter season, the park has its own Zambonie machine to condition the ice.

DeVoe Beach
This township park is located on a large shallow cove, at the mouth of Indian River and Burt Lake. It is just a short walk from the middle of downtown Indian River. The park has a large sandy beach and picnic area, and is the home of our annual 4th of July fireworks display, the Top O' Michigan Boat Races and the Indian River Chamber of Commerce family night during Summerfest.

Marina Park
Located at the intersection of the Indian River and Little Sturgeon is the new Marina Park. The park has benches for viewing the rivers, docks for fishing and tables for picnics. The Marina Park Board has applied for a Boat Launch Grant to purchase the DNR property adjacent to the railroad right-of-way. Final vision for the park includes day parking for boats, boat launch, vehicle and trailer parking, overnight marina, band shell, children's playground and on-sight restroom and shower facilities.

Along the west side of the site is the Tuscarora Trail, a year-round recreational trail that follows the abandoned Cheboygan to Gaylord railroad bed. Nearby, on Straits Highway, are the Indian River Tourist Information Center, public restrooms, food, beverages, frozen treats, ice cream, fudge, clothing, and gift shops.
