Bedford is made up of about 80 percent residences and 20 percent businesses. Most of the town's commerce falls along the Route 3 corridor, extending from Manchester to Merrimack. The Bedford Mall, small businesses, restaurants and a country club are located along this area. Route 101 is another commercial/residential zone featuring housing developments, and office buildings. Near the quaint town center are old farm areas where many of Bedford's lifelong citizens reside. Bedford offers its own school system and recreational facilities while maintaining a comparatively low and stable tax base. The town recently opened a new 70 acre park that will include soccer, softball, and baseball fields, as well as cross country ski trails and fishing and ice skating facilities. Additional plans call for an additional 12-acre park featuring a skating rink and concert gazebo. The town offers many recreational and cultural programs. Find homes for sale in Bedford New Hampshire
