Ohio’s industrially diversity is evident by the numerous, varied businesses that call Ohio home. It ranks third nationally in wineries and sixth in overall wine production. Nearly eighty percent of the leading industries in the nation are found in there. These include vacuum cleaners from Canton to polymers from Akron to the giant names of Proctor and Gamble, Kroger, Olds and Edison. The abundant mineral deposits make it an important mining center and deposits of molding clay make it a major producer of pottery and ceramics. Also contributing to the state’s economy are vast reserves of natural gas, salt and sandstone.
The sales tax rate is five percent with local options for additional increments up to three percent. Local options also allow lodging taxes up to seven percent.

State parks offer swimming, canoeing, fishing, horseback riding and camping. Other recreational activities include hunting, skiing and auto and horse racing.
Ohio has many challenging public golf courses including Hueston Woods State Park near Oxford; Jack Nicklaus Golf Center at Kings Island; Punderson State Park near Newbury and Quail Hollow Golf Club near Painseville.
Some of the most import archaeological sites in North America are found in Ohio. These scenic areas draw millions of visitors annually and generate a great deal of revenue for the local economies.
