Many prisons in America are filled past their capacity with new inmates every day. Many of them don’t even deserve to be there. This causes terrible living conditions for inmates, wasted tax dollars per inmate, and calls for reform with the prison system and the justice system.

Having too many inmates in prison causes a need to move them to a better location in order to make the quality of life better for everyone. This is easily achievable if we simply put people in better locations rather than just throwing them in prison for committing a crime. There are many inmates who would benefit much more by being either in a drug rehabilitation center, a mental health facility, or maybe just under house arrest with mandatory therapy meetings.
